{"id":33452,"date":"2017-03-28T15:20:23","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T15:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beverleyathleticclub.co.uk\/?p=33452"},"modified":"2026-04-30T06:26:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T06:26:48","slug":"whatever-your-goals-or-motivation-come-and-train-with-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beverleyathleticclub.co.uk\/?p=33452","title":{"rendered":"Whatever your goals or motivation&#8230;.come and train with us!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Please contact Fiona Oakes on secretarybevac@gmail.com or membership secretary Catriona Williamson on membershipbevac@gmail.com to confirm meeting location and time before attending any session.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The club runs 3 training sessions per week throughout the year all designed to complement any training programme, to help you achieve a goal, to improve your PBs or just to make you stronger, fitter and healthier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday circuits<\/strong><br \/>\nMonday evenings are taken by a UKA qualified coach in running fitness, and are designed to improve running technique and strength.\u00a0 The sessions are designed to be achievable by all, no matter what the starting point is as all of the activities can be scaled to the appropriate level.\u00a0 The session will start at 7pm, so aim to arrive at 6:45pm and have a warm up jog first.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday Club group run<\/strong><br \/>\nWednesdays 6:20pm.\u00a0 A run where all the club set off together for any distance or speed to suit you.\u00a0 At 6:20pm we do a mass warm up then we do announcements and move off at 6:30pm.\u00a0 Pace poles are available before we start for those relatively new to the club so you can find fellow runners at the same pace and distance.\u00a0 Distances vary from approximately 3 up to 10 miles.\u00a0 During the winter our routes remain the same each week, to ensure we use safe areas like quite roads or pavements with street lighting.\u00a0 During the Summer our meeting locations vary so we can make good use of the light nights.\u00a0 At club run we ask that people are able to run a minimum of 3 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Club run &#8211; Away night. \u00a0Once a month from April to September (inclusive) a run is planned at an alternative location, convening afterwards in a local hostelry for food. \u00a0As soon as the locations and dates have been confirmed, they are added to the club calendar.<\/p>\n<p>During the winter we often organise head torch runs, but taking advantage of the many footpaths and rural trails around Beverley.\u00a0 Trail shoes and a head torch essential!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday speed<br \/>\n<\/strong>Thursday nights are the club\u2019s weekly speed work session, taken by a UKA qualified coach.\u00a0 The sessions are designed to be suitable for anyone capable of running with the club on a Wednesday night.\u00a0 These sessions include a mixture of faster paced running and mobility work, and are an excellent way to improve your running across the full range of race distances.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday Improve your running.<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you want to improve your running (and perhaps get a little faster) come along and join us on a Friday evening.\u00a0 We meet (and warm up) at 6:00pm and we are normally finished in about an hour.\u00a0 All abilities are welcome especially those who don\u2019t yet feel confident about joining the Thursday speed group.\u00a0 It is a coached session normally run by Patrick Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact secretarybeverleyac@gmail.com or membershipbevac@gmail.com before attending any session and to confirm meeting location.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please contact Fiona Oakes on secretarybevac@gmail.com or membership secretary Catriona Williamson on membershipbevac@gmail.com to confirm meeting location and time before attending any session.
