Temporary road closures for the Pittaway Beverley 10k Sunday 9th May 2027

Details of roads to be closed and parking bays to be suspended:-

  1. Saturday Market (whole extent from 06:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs).
  2. Toll Gavel (whole extent from 06:00 hrs to 12:00hrs).
  3. Butcher Row (whole extent from 06:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs).
  4. Wednesday Market (whole extent from 06:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs).
  5. Minster Yard South (between the crossroads of Long Lane/St John’s Street and the T junction with Flemingate/Eastgate from 09:45 hrs to 10:30 hrs).
  6. Flemingate (between the junction with Armstrong Way to the continuation with Eastgate) from 09:45 hrs to 10:30hrs).
  7. Lord Roberts Road (from the junction with Eastgate and Railway Street to the junction with Champney Road from 09:45 hrs to 10:30 hrs).
  8. Eastgate (between the continuation with Flemingate to the junction with Railway Street from 09:45 hrs to 12:00).
  9. Railway Street (from the junction with Eastgate to the roundabout with New Walkergate from 08:45 hrs to 12:00).
  10. Walkergate (from the junction with Toll Gavel to the junction with Dyer Lanel from 09:30 hrs to 10:00 hrs).
  11. Dyer Lane (from the junction with Walkergate to junction with Saturday Market from 08:30 hrs to 10:00 hrs).
  12. Ladygate (from the junction with Sow Hlll Road and Saturday Market to Dyer Lane from 08:30 hrs to 10:00 hrs).

09:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs – these closures will operate as rolling road closures and roads will be re-opened once the race has passed, consistent with maintaining public safety:

  1. Champney Road (from the crossroads with Cross Street/Lord Roberts Road to the junction with Lairgate).
  2. Lairgate (from the junction with Champney Road to North Bar).
  3. North Bar Within (whole extent).
  4. North Bar Without (staggered crossroads with York Road and Wylies Road).
  5. A1174 York Road (between the junction with Narth Bar Without and Newbald Road).
  6. Newbald Road (whole extent).
  7. Mill Lane (the whole extent from Walkington Heads/Newbald Road crossroads to the junction with the B1230 (East End/Broadgates traffic lights).
  8. Beverley Road/Broadgate B1230/Keldgate Road from Mill Lane/Bentley Lane/East End crossroads (traffic lights Walkington] to the junction with Walkington Road.
  9. Walkington Road/Westwood Road (from the junction with Keldgate Road to the junction with Albert Terrace/St Mary’s Terrace).
  10. St Mary’s Terrace (around the staggered junction with Westwood Road and Newbegin).
  11. Albert Terrace (from the junction with Grayburn Lane to the junction with Westwood Road).
  12. Newbegin (whole extent).
  13. Old waste (whole extent).

All road closures will be lifted once all the competitors have cleared the area and consistent with maintaining safety of spectators and competitors.

Details of the fun run 09:00 hours start 

East Riding College is used as the race headquarters, registration and assembly, after which runners make their way to the start situated in Wednesday Market.  The fun run starts at 09:00 hours taking participants on 2 laps along Butcher Row continuing right along Old Walkergate before turning left into Dyer Lane, right onto Ladygate and then left to circumnavigate Saturday Market before heading out south east along Toll Gavel to the junction with Old Walkergate to complete a second circuit of Old Walkergate, Dyer Lane, Ladygate and Saturday Market before returning to the finish in Wednesday Market via Toll Gavel and Butcher Row.

 Details of the 10K road running race 10:00 hours start

East Riding College is used as the registration and assembly point after which runners make their way to the start situated in Eastgate and Minster Yard South.  The race starts at 10:00 hours and takes the runners through Beverley to North Bar via Eastgate, Lord Roberts Road, Champney Road, Lairgate and North Bar Within.  Once through North Bar, runners then turn left and continue west along the York Road (A 1174) taking the left-hand turn into Newbald Road heading to the cross roads with Mill Lane/Walkington Heads.   (North Bar traffic lights will be placed on red for a ten minute period in order to give priority to runners turning left into York Road from North Bar Within.)  At Walkington Heads crossroads runners turn left to head south along Mill Lane or Coppleflats lane to the junction with the (B1230 Walkington traffic lights).  At the traffic lights runners turn left to start the return run into Beverley via the B1230 Broadgates/Keldgate Road/Walkington Road, Westwood Road and Newbegin, crossing into Saturday Market via Lairgate and Old Waste to complete the final leg down Toll Gavel to the finishing line in Wednesday Market.  The race finish has a cut-off time of 90 mins, therefore 11:30am.
